Campus Giesing

Munich, DE

A new green campus for Versicherungskammer in Munich-Giesing creates a contemporary work environment embedded in the urban fabric. The design combines sustainable architecture with a publicly accessible landscape that connects company and city.

South of the existing building on Warngauer Straße, three new volumes are carefully positioned to integrate naturally into the cityscape. The campus is restructured with new access from Deisenhofener Straße and a landscape design that transforms the site into an open, park-like environment for both employees and the public. A diverse open space offers courtyards, meeting areas, sports facilities, and a central auditorium that links different levels and connects indoor and outdoor uses. A public café and activity zones further enliven the surroundings and create a green urban oasis. A communication level links new and existing buildings, encouraging interaction through short connections and shared spaces. The building organization supports exchange and visibility.

Level 1

Sustainability is central to the design: the arrangement of volumes improves natural ventilation and microclimate, while unsealed surfaces, large trees, and biodiversity roofs follow sponge city principles. Photovoltaics and climate-responsive facades enhance energy performance, and circular construction strategies enable reuse of existing materials. The project establishes an open, sustainable campus that strengthens both its urban context and social connectivity.
