City Center Development Puchheim

Puchheim, DE

The project for Puchheim redefines the town center as a coherent urban landscape that combines identity, public life, and green structures. It transforms fragmented open spaces into a sequence of clearly defined and vibrant places.

Building on the existing green character and the preserved “Alte Schule,” the design strengthens landscape qualities while introducing urban structure and density. A continuous green framework is complemented by defined spatial edges, creating a balance between open landscape and urban form.

site plan

A central pedestrian axis links key areas and unfolds into a sequence of public spaces with distinct identities, including the Green Market as a multifunctional civic center. These spaces support everyday use as well as events, fostering social interaction and urban vitality. Traffic calming measures, integrated parking solutions, and strengthened pedestrian connections improve accessibility and spatial quality. Ground-floor uses activate streets and enhance safety and liveliness.

New buildings are carefully positioned to define spaces and create a clear urban structure while maintaining a human scale. The Alte Schule becomes part of a cultural and educational campus, complemented by additional public functions. The project establishes a diverse, sustainable, and identity-forming town center that connects landscape, urban life, and community.
