Michael Innerarity
Michael Innerarity studied political science and architecture at North Carolina State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Architecture, and he also studied at the Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart. Before joining Behnisch Architekten in 2007, he worked at Toshiko Mori Architect in New York. At Behnisch, he has led teams through planning, design, and coordination on educational, laboratory, and healthcare projects, with an emphasis on organizing complex technical requirements into clear architectural solutions. His experience includes EDGE ElbSide in Hamburg, the National Center for Tumor Diseases expansion in Heidelberg, and the FH Münster Steinfurt Campus reconstructions and parking structure, as well as international studies such as AGORA in Lausanne and the Metropolitan Sheptytsky Center in Lviv. Since becoming a Partner in 2023, he has continued to guide projects where program complexity and delivery constraints are resolved through disciplined coordination and design clarity.
